Ok, so this is a guide for gunners. It is i, your esteemed instructor! I will show you how to master your bowgun/bow in this step-by-step guide.
PS: Results may vary
Bow-The bow is a long-ranged cutting weapon. It is best to be at medium-long range, just to make sure you can evade. Bring ALL the coatings that your bow can use. But make sure those effects are possible for the monster!
Using a bow means that you must know the weak point of a monster and their elemental weaknesses. You must be quick, or else... :tiggy: :omgrun:
Bows may be imbued w/ elemental powers, just like all the melee weapons. This is very useful when facing monsters weak to certain elements.
Bows are able to do a melee attack, but it is not recommended unless the target monster is in a trap (shock trap if possible, you can use the melee attack to cut of tails)
Bows do not run out of ammo, unlike bowguns. So you do not have to worry about running out of arrows.
When upgrading bows, it is still the same w/ melee weapons, using monster material, ores etc.
PS: Bows are not recommended for beginner hunters, but for more experienced ones!
Light Bowgun-The Light Bowgun, like the bow, i light and easy to use. You can run with it at the ready w/c is crucial. I suggest being at medium-long range, so you may evade. Just like the bow, bring all the best ammo you can.
It will be worth bringing them. Just like the bow, you must now all the weak points and elemental weaknesses of the target monster.
The bullets that you use may be imbued w/ elements. But, you will run out of most bullets. The only ammo that doesn't run out is Normal S Lv1. Unlike most weapons, Light bowguns are inferior in terms of attack power, but in turn, gives you great mobility.
When upgrading bowguns, all you need is money. But only a few upgrades can be added at a time. You can also add a zoom scope, to help you lock on the target more easily.
To help you not get hit, it is best to locate for ledges that you can climb on so that you may not get hit easily.
This also applies w/ the bow.
Another feature that the Light bowgun boasts is Rapid Fire. It is basically firing multiple shots in one...bullet?
I really can't explain this. But it is firing multiple shots, useful for trapped monsters
Heavy Bowgun-The heavy bowgun is the opposite of it's counterpart. It is heavy, thus greatly decreasing your mobility. But, in turn, boasts superior attack power. I suggest being at medium-close range due to the speed of this weapon.
Bring all the best ammo, it will be worth bringing.
When upgrading, you may add a shield that will enable to Auto-Guard skill, w/c is very useful for fast monsters.
Unlike Light bowguns, Heavy bowguns cannot utilize Rapid Fire.
That is all...for now!
