Need lao shan ruby for emperor lao shan cannon but i think its around 3% carve off of him and in rewards its like 5 % and i aslo need pale khezu steeak for TDS and i think odds of that are around thge same as the lao ruby. i ve killed at least 5 high rank khezus now and captured some and repelled ash lao 3 or 4 times and regullar lao like 5 and killed him once and im havin no luck . has any one gotten a lao ruby or PKS that has a tactic for obtaining these?

pale khezu steal is not really rare to me, just kill the high rank khezu.

Lao shan ruby is the hard one. I only gotten once, and i had used it.

Try and bring luck skills, activate felyne ultra lucky cat.
Bring carving celebrity ONLY if the armour does affects the killing rate. Its useless if you bring a carving celebrity armour and repel lao shan. Felyne dismantle hi is also a carving celebrity.

Luck skills are in general better than carving celebrity but seems like the odds are against you... You should try and bring both. And maybe ask a friend to do with you.

thanks for the help, im just gonna keep farming and the odds are towards me eventually, i am working the two guild suits to get those skills but thats a ways off, and is azure lao more likely to give it?

lol! Dude, you are confused! You can only get lao shan ruby from azure lao shan. Not that azure lao shan has a higher chance of getting one.

Maybe you had been playing the normal lao shan, which doesn't give you any rubies at all. That's why you found it hard.

I was pretty lucky, I got the ruby the very first time I fought Ash Lao

i only got a lao ruby, and it was by carving him, so is a good thing to kill him, also ull get more stuff at the reward if u kill him instead of repelling him.

don't go with the nekoht ash (Ketchum?) no ash lao shan lung, because when you get only 3% at guild you get the half at nekoht 3 /2 = 1.5%

Always Carve the belley and the head And if you have a Hammer user with you or ls or Greatsword let him hit the stomach. Good luck!

i figured it was ash lao who had them, but regular lao wasa so much easier i just went for him, just captured yet another high rank khezu and this time i got 5 khezu hide tans and the other time i got about 8 thunder sacs and still yet to get a pale khezu steak, these have all been nekohts quest " old jungle lightning" can you not get them from his quest? or just more bad luck

want to know wats bad luk? try being a gunner on tri and hunting rathian for a plate OVER 21 TIMES i swear, moron keeps dying = - = i cant get it capture or carve and when i finaly get it took me 20+ kill and cap = - =

Speaking of Bad Luck!!!.. Try to level these, it happened to me TWICE.
After cutting tails, the piece of tail landed in a place impossible to reach.

1) " Forest Hill " at Zone 4's passage leading to Zone 3, an area where four big rocks form an intersection, after I cut a Rathalos's tail near that place, the piece of tail landed ON TOP of one big rock, no way I could reach it, I could only stare at it and kept saying, " FCK!!!, that could be a freaking ruby!! "

2) " Volcano (NIGHT) " , Zone 4, after cutting a Teostra's tail, inexplicably somehow the freaking piece of tail landed in the LAVA!!, how could that happended??.. how the hll am I supposed to reach that thing????!!!!!

just got pale khezu steak!!!!! i pet my pig and did the guild high rank khezu and sure enough! there it was in my capture rewards!!!

Those juicy steaks are a pain to get , I worked my ass off pretty hard and I only got 2 so far
